Everything I Wore to NYFW (& Where You Can Get it too)

Before we dive into this, I’d like to get one thing clear, Fashion Week is NOT about the attendees. Sure, it’s put on to create a spectacle and catch the eye of editors, stylists, bloggers and consumers alike; but most importantly, Fashion Week is about the incredible hardwork and dedication that all of those involved have put in to create these powerful collections and shows. We’re a community and in this together. It’s so important to remember to be thankful for the opportunity we’ve been given to peer into a designer’s imagination to forecast the upcoming moments of fashion.

With that being said, it’s also a time celebrate fashion! And, of course, the best way to do that is through the ultimate game of dress-up at Fashion Week. Read through for everything I wore this season and where you can score similar pieces for a fall wardrobe update!

My schedule on the day I wore this look was incredibly light, so I wanted to stay on the simple side until the shows really started up. I popped downtown for a quick presentation then headed back uptown to support my friend Caroline’s book signing at Bloomingdale’s. I kept this look super attainable for day-to-day by layering lightweight fabrics and adding in pops of red (a common theme in the looks to come).

Basically, I’ve been dying to wear this dress (and I died of heat wearing it LOL). I actually bought it for last Fashion Week which was in February, but I ended up not wanting to deal with a dress in that nasty winter weather we had. I styled the dress with layered necklaces, pinstripe stockings and faux crocodile booties. I also wanted to mix in a print, so I tied a silk scarf on my beaded bag.

This may be my favorite look! I incorporated two trends that definitely turned out to be a part of the most worn for NYFW street style: animal print and suiting. I styled this thrifted Express top with a tuxedo-style vest belted with a vintage, pinstripe Max Mara belt, leather shorts and crocodile booties then finished the look with a red lip and purse. I’ll be honest, there’s a lot going on, but the outfit flows, flatters my frame and was just a lot of fun to wear!

This is another look that I adored wearing! One of my goals for this season is to start mixing more patterns. There’s, of course, always prints that are on-trend, but they’re unbelievably popular right now— and this isn’t stopping any time soon. Spoiler alert: stock up on stripes for spring. More to come on this soon :)

Sometimes it doesn’t hurt to stick with the classics. I like to think of my style as “revamping classics”. There is truly a way to be on-trend without sacrificing personal style, flattering silhouettes and being your chic self! Here, I’m wearing a black turtleneck that’s actually rouched in a satin-like material, leather shorts, an oversized houndstooth blazer, pinstripe stockings and a black leather pump. I added pops of red through my lipstick and purse for an added, eye-catching element.

This was my last look of NYFW and definitely an impulse one at that. Aside from leopard print, I am obsessed with snakeskin. I stumbled upon this satin men’s button-up in a Village Discount for $3, and it’s become a major layering piece in my wardrobe. These Ralph Lauren trousers were also thrifted for $25! I styled it with a lace bodysuit, snakeskin sandals and a cream purse.
