NYFW Looks Inspired by Gossip Girl

We all know the runways aren’t the only place to get inspired during NYFW. New Yorkers and out-of-towners alike break out their best and personality-bearing looks to sport during the marathon of shows, meetings and events.

I have to admit, with all the talk of the Gossip Girl reboot, I was undoubtedly #influenced to let classic pieces and a prep undertone lead my looks— all with a modern twist, of course. Luckily, this season’s weather was actually bearable which allowed opportunity for mixing seasons, layering and a variety of footwear that’s perfect to carry a look from end-of-summer into fall.

What would Blair Waldorf wear to NYFW in 2019? I guess we’ll have to wait for the reboot to find out; but in the meantime, here are my three favorite transeasonal looks to try for yourself this fall.

1. Keep it Classy at Victrola

Nothing says “classic” like a white button-down shirt. To make things a little more interesting, I channeled “Blair at Victrola” vibes to layer over this lacey slip dress and paired it with knee-high leather boots and a vintage belt.

2. Did someone say Chanel?

I wish, but this $20 vintage skirt would undoubtedly make Coco herself swoon. If anything at all, Blair taught us how to make mini skirts surprisingly chic. To emphasize the cool blue in the Chanel-like tweed, I paired this mini with an antique floral print top punctuated by pearl buttons.

3. She Means Business

Blazer dresses are the perfect update to take a classic yet trendy piece into a fresh rendition. Styled with a chic croc bag and waist-cinching belt, this was the perfect day-to-night look and surely would be BW-approved.
